Careers
We are not hiring.
Most careers pages at companies this size are a costume: five values, a stock photograph of a laptop, and no open roles. This one is just the true version of the same page.
The Quarters B.V. is small and deliberately so. The product runs a real portfolio in Amsterdam and is sold to a handful of operators; there is no funding round to spend and no headcount plan to fill.
When that changes, this page will list actual roles with actual salary bands. Until then there is nothing here, and we’d rather say so than collect applications for jobs that do not exist.
What we would look for
Written down now, while it is honest rather than a job advertisement.
Somebody who has run an operation
The most useful person on a team like this is not a domain expert on paper. It is somebody who has personally chased a cleaner at eight in the morning. Most software for this market is wrong because nobody who built it ever had to.
Engineers who write things down
This codebase explains itself in comments that say why rather than what, because the reasoning behind a decision is the part that gets lost. Somebody who finds that tedious would be unhappy here.
A bias toward fewer moving parts
The strongest opinion in the product is that anything requiring a background job to stay correct will eventually be incorrect. Enthusiasm for adding infrastructure is not the trait we would hire for.
Dutch and English
Half the tenants would rather read Dutch and half of the market is international. Both, comfortably, is a genuine requirement rather than a nice-to-have.
If that describes you anyway
Write to us. Not a cover letter. Tell us about an operational problem you solved and what you would have done differently. We keep those, and they are what we’d go back to before writing a job advertisement.
